Little Tigers, Big Adventures!

Looking for a fun way to introduce your child to hockey?

Our Hookin2Hockey program is the perfect place to start! Designed for children aged 4–10, our sessions focus on learning the basics of hockey, making friends, building confidence and, most importantly, having fun!

No previous hockey experience is needed, and everyone is welcome.

What is Hookin2Hockey?

Hookin2Hockey is Hockey Australia's introductory program, designed to give children a fun and positive first experience with hockey.

Our sessions include a mix of:

- Fun hockey activities and games

- Basic stick and ball skills

- Teamwork and confidence building

- Modified games and mini matches

- Plenty of encouragement and fun!

Our volunteer coaches create a welcoming environment where children can learn at their own pace and develop a love for the game.

When and Where?

2027 Season – Dates to Be Confirmed

Our Hookin2Hockey sessions are traditionally held on:

Fridays | 4:30pm – 5:30pm

Location: Orelia Oval, Elmore Place, Orelia

Sessions run during the winter hockey season, generally across Terms 2 and 3.

Final dates and times for 2027 will be confirmed closer to the season.

What Does My Child Need?

Getting started is easy!

Please bring:

- Comfortable clothes suitable for running

- Enclosed sports shoes

- Shin pads and a mouthguard

- A water bottle

- A hockey stick, if you have one

Don't have a hockey stick? No worries!

We have sticks available for children to borrow while they're getting started.

What Happens at a Session?

Our sessions are relaxed, fun and designed for beginners.

Children participate in age-appropriate activities, learn basic hockey skills and have the opportunity to practise what they've learned through fun games.

Our focus is on participation, confidence and enjoyment rather than competition.

Can My Child Come and Try?

Absolutely!

We understand that trying a new sport can be a big step, so families are welcome to get in touch about coming along to see what Hookin2Hockey is all about.

There's no pressure, and our coaches are happy to help children settle in.
